Federal Prime Contractor BES Solutions Achieves Final CMMC Level 2 and Facility Clearance

BESS continued its cybersecurity investment amid changes to the federal CMMC implementation schedule, adding independently assessed security readiness to an established federal prime-contracting record.

OXON HILL, Md. and WASHINGTON, D.C. — September 21, 2026 — BES Solutions, Inc. (BESS), a service-disabled veteran-owned and woman-owned small business with an established record as a federal prime contractor, announced that it has achieved Final Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 (C3PAO) and obtained a Facility Clearance in 2026.

BESS completed its CMMC Level 2 third-party assessment during a period of significant change in the federal government's CMMC implementation schedule. After the Department suspended the next phase of mandatory CMMC requirements in July and initiated a review of the program, BESS continued with its planned third-party assessment and cybersecurity investment.

For BESS, the decision reflected a longer-term business strategy: build the security infrastructure needed to protect sensitive government information and support increasingly complex federal and national security requirements regardless of changes to an implementation deadline.

We chose to continue because protecting government information and being ready for the missions we want to support are bigger than a compliance deadline.”

BESS’s Final CMMC Level 2 (C3PAO) status has been uploaded in SPRS and eMASS for verification. The company's certification is valid through June 16, 2029.

BESS was also granted a Facility Clearance in 2026, establishing the company's eligibility to access classified information when such access is required by a government contract and properly authorized. The Facility Clearance does not, by itself, provide access to classified information.

Security Readiness Built on Federal Prime-Contracting Experience

The two security milestones build upon an established federal performance record.

Since beginning federal contract performance in 2020, BESS has served as a prime contractor supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA NRCS), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

BESS's experience includes:

  • A current FAA prime contract valued at approximately $5.79 million and extending through March 2028, following an earlier FAA prime contract performed from 2021 to 2023.

  • Management of federal workforces reaching 26 FTEs.

  • Program management, executive and administrative support, clerical services, and medical professional staffing.

  • Services supporting hundreds of veterans and beneficiaries through BESS's VA healthcare work.

  • CPARS evaluations rated Satisfactory or better.
